Belmont Saturday 5/29 & Monday 5/31 (Memorial Day long weekend)

The spotlight is on Belmont, the week before the Belmont Stakes. The feature race Saturday is the Vagrancy Hcp, a Gp 2 HCP for fillies & mares over 1300. I'm going for #4 Malibu Prayer, trained by Pletcher (won KY Derby) and ridden by Johnny velazquez, and drawn perfectly. plenty of ability and burning up the training tracks. rated her a $3.50 shot, and $4.50 in the morning line [she started 13/8 fav, but was very disappointing, fading from the top of the stright after being well placed on the rial behind the leaders; 9:0-4]

Monday is Memorial Day and the feature is the Gp 1 Metropolitan Hcp, aka the 'Met Mile'. Quality Road (out of a Strawberry Road mare), the fastest horse in the US currently, will be a very short priced fav favorite but seems hard to beat. he is first up off a 4 month layoff but working well, Johnny V. should be able to use his tactical speed to come across from barier 7, get to front and wire it. 2 & 8 also have early speed but hard to see them duelling him to the ground and should be too strong for them and could win by panels. 2 for the exacta and 3,5,6 for the exotics [FINALLY!! GOT ONE RIGHT!!! this is exactly how race panned out, although 2-7 exacta; 7-3-2 trifecta. Although wired it they threw everything a him in a very impressive performance. But everyone else knew how race would unfold too: QR only paid $1.25 for the win. QR is my "best horse seen in US"; 10:1&4]

There is also a Gp 1 mile on the turf at Hollywood
