Made the trek out to the Big A again for my second consecutive Wood Memorial, and it was the biggest boilovern since Secretariat being knocked off in 1973, with a crowd of 12,143 plus me on hand to see the 1-9 chalk Uncle Mo [come up empty inside the final 200m (told you his pedigree was weak) and finsih 3rd. the unlikely Toby's Corner (-) for ex-Pom Graham Motion (E. Castro up, 8/1 2nd fav) rockets to the top of my ratings on the back of this result. Arthur's tale was 2nd
On the west coast, another boilover with Bob baffert leading in previously unrated Midnight Interlude [118] by a head from Comma To the Top [118'] & Mr Commons [111].
There was also the Gr III Illinois Derby with Todd Pletcher leading in the winner Joe Vann [114] at Hawthorne, from Zoebear [101] and The Fed Eased [100]. interesting to note the early leader Lagoon of Diamonds is by Encosta de Lago.
