No grade 1 races today anywhere. The main two races are these final KyD preps.
#27:It's the final Saturday of the meet at AQU and in the time-honored $200K Jerome, 1 mi, the only one still on the "Road" (ranked 41st and even $120K for winning won;t be enough) is #3 Stirred Up. My selection is 2-5-3-1 in a field of 7. #2 Brigand is a speedy Bob B sprinter shipping from SoCal and attempting a route for the 1st time, with the blinkers on, 4/1 in M/L. It's R9 and p/t is 5pm ET. For the histroy buffs, the Jerome is named in honor of Leonard W. Jerome, maternal grandfather of Sir Winston Churchill and NYC racing pioneer & founder of the old Jerome track located in the Bronx. First run in 1866, today is the 142nd running.
#28 In the 31st running of the $200K Lexington, 1&1/16 on the poly at KEE, there are 2 runners with any chance of making the KY D field ($260K cut-off) - they are #7 castaway (currently 25th, 162K) who can force his way in with a win or even 2nd and #1 Morgan's Guerrilla (36th, 100K). However, I have the speedy #3 Johannesbourbon on top, 8/1 ML. Huge step in class from a MSW at TP (syn) in only 2nd start, but he is trained on the track and should be on the lead at least. KEE has been a grave yard for favorites (25% SR) and lets hope it continues here; a $18 winner would be veyr nice. Selections in this field of 11 are 3-1-2-5-7. It's also R9 and p/t is 5.13 ET
