28th running of the Gr 2 4strdavH over a mile on tne inner turf at SAR where heavy rain is predicted and the mai track is sloppy and the turf is yielding. so perhaps it will be run on the main track. Not a lot of speed, mainly from #3 Get Stormy, #8 Update, also #2 Wise Dan (not a turf horse lately), #10 Crossbow. Despite surface, my tip is #2 Wise Dan who is 1 for 2 on turf and 2 for 2 in wet.over Get Stormy & Crossbow with #4,#7 & Update for the exotics.
The FOURSTARDAVE is named for the horse owned by Richard Bomze that won at least one race at Saratoga each year from 1987 to 1994. Trained by Leo O’Brien, the New York-bred won stakes races at Saratoga in five consecutive years, including the 1988 Albany Handicap, the 1989 and 1991 West Point Handicaps, and consecutive runnings of the Daryl’s Joy in 1990 and 1991. His success at Saratoga earned him the nickname, “The Sultan of Saratoga.” In addition to having a stakes race named after him, the retired state-bred has had a street named for him in Saratoga, and an annual award presented by the New York Turf Writers Association.
No Gr 1 races in the US today. Other graded stakes incl. the Monmouth Oaks, and the LaJolla hcp for 3yo at Del Mar.
