The Super Derby is a Grade 2 race held at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, L.A. Inaugurated in 1980, it is the richest stakes race held at the track. Historically, the Super Derby has been a draw for 3-year-old males coming off the Triple Crown trail and prepping for the Breeders' Cup. Tiznow won the Super Derby on his way to a victory in the 2000 Breeders' Cup Classic. Champion colts such as Alysheba, Seeking The Gold, and Sunday Silence have also won the Super Derby.
