San Gabriel Stakes at SA

Hello again in 2015. Still here in NYC and still struggling on the punt. This year I'm determined to play at least one race each weekend, and I will be framing a market (main chances to 80%), so as to try and come up with an overlay, rather than just a chalky winner. Will keep tally in a device on the right, for all to see. Week 1 I'm playing the gr2 turf route San Gabriel stakes at Santa Anita tomorrow. A field of 9 with #2 Big Bane Theory,#3 Dynamic Sky, #4 Patriotic and Proud,(left out #5 Persuasive Paul!), #6 Finnegan Wake, and #9 Tom's Tribute the main chances. I have 9/2 the field. #2 9/2 (M/L 7/2); #3-6/1 (7/2); #4-6/1 (8/1); #6-5/1 (9/2); #9-6/1 (5/2). #4 Patrioticandproud is the only value runner at the morning line, and a moderate 33% one at that. He turned in a game effort running on between horses when placed last start in the Gr 2 Hollywood Turf Classic at DMR on Thanksgiving at 33/1 (horse #5). Expect him to get a stalking run again inside. . Result: same exacta. #6 beat #4. I had #4 to win at 13/1. Paid 11/2 for the place, 5/2 the show. So no cigar, but an encouraging start to the new year.
