RTKyD12: Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park

Hi, back in the Big Apple after a vaca in Sydney and attending Randwick Gns Day at Royal Rwk last saturday where Mosheen was very impressive in the Gns.

Race of the day today is the 41st running of the Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park N.Ky/Cincinnati), again sponsored by Vinery Racing. Animal Kingdom won this race last year on the way to KY Derby success, but it is not a race that usually throws up the winner.

This year, my selection is 4-1-12-3. #4 Went The Day Well is a British import for Graeme Motion trying to emulate AK for Team Valor, comes of a MSW win at GP and is 4/1 in ML. #1 Russian greek & #12 Handsome Mike ran on synth in El Camino Real Derby (Race of the day on 2/18). #3 Heavy Breathing is looking for the hat trick for Pletcher, comes off a OC $75 win at GP l/s. Sacttered T/storms and a high of 67 forecast for the Cinicinnati/N. KY area but the Polytrack at TP will be fast, as always.

RESULT#19: WON. 4-5-3; $12.4/6.0/4.4 [19: 7-3-2, 0.37; out 19, in 24.25; POT 28%] #4 was impressive, racing away in strecthc, though did change elads a couple of times on entering stretch
