Met Mile prediction

Memorial Day tomorrow and the racing spotlight is definitely on Belmont here in NYC, where there are 3 Grade 1 races set down for decision, including the 120th running of the $750K Metropolitan Hcp over the mile on the main dirt track (1 turn). This is a high quality field this year and a wide open affair. My selection is the lightly raced #2 Discreet Dancer (with the in-form Javier Castellano up, for Todd P.), freshened since his 3rd in the G1 Carter (6f) on Wood Memorial day. Having only his 7th start (won 4 from 6), this is his Bel debut. He usually sits off the pace, which ought to be a good place to be here. He is 4th on the ML at 6/1 and while he is considered a "legit player", none of the racing journalists give him much space so I expect to start longer, and so I will be taking him "across". I have #1,6,7,9 as the dangers/for the exoctics and wouldn't be surprised if any of them wins. Supposed to be sunny and 75 tomorrow, so should be a fast track by time Race 10 comes around at 5.50 pm as the last few days' bad weather seems to be well and truly behind us. DISCREET DANCER CAME LAST BUT 7-1-6 WAS THE TRIFECTA
